In 2013 La Barranca presents its record production Eclipse de Memoria, a cycle of songs that revolve around the passage of time, oblivion and the illusion of memory, personally and collectively sense. The highlights of the album are the songs El Tiempo es Olvido and Ante la Ley.
The album shows us a different Barranca, with new sounds added, like the marimba and wind instruments, to create an open work, where the songs are built around assemblages and rhythmic pulses, achieving a more mature and expansive album.
For the performance of Eclipse de Memoria, the band has joined a long list of notable collaborating musicians, including: Alfonso André, Cecilia Toussaint, guitarist Adolfo Romero and drummer Navi Nas, who have been part of the band since the tour around Providencia, the marimbista Quique Castro, the renowned double bass player Agustín Bernal, the saxophonist Daniel Zlotnik, the cellist Mónica Del Águila and the multi instrumentalist Yamil Rezc. Eclipse de Memoria has been produced by La Barranca in collaboration with Yamil Rezc, and recorded and mixed by the Grammy-Nominee Eduardo del Águila.
